Rocky Mountain National Park – We entered the park through the South Entrance on Park Entrance Road in Estes Park. You can also take the North route on W. Wonderview Ave.
We were in Rocky Mountain National Park in June 2020. At the time, reservations were required due to the virus. You actually had to reserve a specific time to enter the park. Please check the official website prior to planning a trip.
We took Trail Ridge Road up to the Alpine Visitor Center. We then exited Rocky Mountain National Park at Grand Lake which took us through Granby and Winter Park to I-70. Trail Ridge Road is the highest paved road in Colorado. It is subject to closure during the winter due to the large amounts of snow.
If you go to Rocky Mountain National Park allow plenty of time so you slowly meander your way up and stop along the way for photos, hiking and wildlife viewing.
