Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge is located in Northern Ireland (UK) near Ballintoy in County Antrim.
The rope bridge links the mainland to the tiny island of Carrickarede.

Word of warning, just the walk to get to the bridge is pretty long, so please bring plenty of water with you. It isn’t too strenuous, but if you have any walking issues, this may not be for you. We made the mistake of not having any water with us. The round trip walk is very long, just be prepared and also go to the bathroom first.

The bridge is 66 ft (20 metres) above the rocks below. Once you get to the bridge, it is pretty easy to cross, but it is very windy and you will need to hold on tight! You can spend as much time as you want on the island once you cross.

We highly recommend making this part of your Ireland Trip as it is an experience you will not soon forget! For more information about Carrick-a-Rede click here.

The parking lot nearby is an old quarry that was used as a Game of Thrones filming location. It used for Renly Baratheon’s camp near Storm’s End and where we were first introduced to Brienne of Tarth. See below:

Unlike most travel bloggers that travel full time, we have to balance full time jobs, and elementary school age daughter. We definitely don't travel as much as we would like, but we think our situation is closer to what most travelers are in themselves.
Our family currently lives and loves the Austin, Texas area of the United States. We have lived in many states and even internationally.
