This video features the top Outlander Filming Locations in Scotland. My wife and I are big fans of the show and decided to make the trek to Scotland to visit my wife’s best friend that lives in Edinburgh.

We of course also checked out our favorite Outlander Filming Locations. We did a bit of research online before going to map out our trip. The order these locations appear in the video don’t match the order in which we visited them. You need to map out your trip to best match your itinerary. We just spent about 5 days in Scotland during this visit which was plenty of time to see all of these sites.

The sites included in this video are the following:

– Craig Na Dun – Fictional Location of the Standing Stones from Outlander

Blackness Castle – Fort William where Jamie was flogged by Black Jack Randall

Doune Castle – Castle Leoch, Seat of the Clan Mackenzie

Falkland Scotland – Setting for Inverness in Outlander

Covenanter Hotel – Mrs. Baird’s B&B

Craigmillar Castle – Ardsmuir Prison where Jamie Fraser was imprisoned

Hopetoun House & Estate – Location of interior of Helwater, Ellesmere, Duke of Sandringham’s Home and Paris street scenes

Midhope Castle – Lallybroch or Broch Tuarach, Home of the Fraser Clan

Check out other Scotland locations here!

See our Game of Thrones filming location tour if that interests you as well.

We hope you enjoy the video and we are more than happy to answer any questions you may have about these filming locations. Please ask your questions in the comments below.

Unlike most travel bloggers that travel full time, we have to balance full time jobs, and elementary school age daughter. We definitely don't travel as much as we would like, but we think our situation is closer to what most travelers are in themselves.
Our family currently lives and loves the Austin, Texas area of the United States. We have lived in many states and even internationally.
